Traffic is King, but this comes FIRST

The best way to ensure your success is to build automated traffic sources to send you visitors day and night.

But, first…

Keyword research is really the first step in getting traffic to your website. The reason this is so important is that you are going to be building content and traffic sources for specific keywords. Which means you need to put some thought into the keywords you’re targeting.

A couple things to keep in mind when doing keyword research:

  • Are the keywords you’re interested in attainable? You’ll have to analyze the competition and see what’s out there for this.
  • What kinds of visitors do these keywords bring? Some keywords will bring lots of traffic, but none of them will buy. You want to generate visitors ready to buy.
  • What about affiliates? Generating your own customers is great – having other people do it for you is even better. So make sure you are also targeting keywords to attract affiliates.

Of course, this all takes time if you plan to do it yourself. And hiring an expert is very expensive. The upside is that these two factors keep most everyone from even doing their keyword research. What I recommend is using website traffic software to save the time of doing it yourself and the money of hiring someone else. This way you get this critical step done fast and done well.

OK, now we can talk about traffic…

Now that you’ve completed your keyword research, you can begin using these keywords to get traffic to your website.

Here’s a short list of sneaky traffic techniques:

  • Something you may not have ever considered is Surveys
  • “Help” Websites
  • Video

Surveys

Here’s the thing – people love surveys. It’s human nature. You can use this fact to provide “sticky” content for other website owners. They benefit by getting free content for their site and you get a link to your site under the survey. This allows you to get free website traffic from other people’s sites! Most people think surveys are just for collecting data, but in this case you don’t even care about the answers. So, get creative and make up a survey that’s wacky to get other people interested in putting it on their sites.

“Answer” Sites

Maybe you’ve seen these help sites where people post questions and other people answer them. However, you’re interest in these sites is not to ask and answer questions. The other thing they can be used for is to get traffic to your site, leads for your business and sales! Now, you can do this all by hand – visit a classified ads or answers site and one by one copy and paste contact info. The good news is that it’s easy to find website traffic software that can do this automatically. These tools put the whole thing on auto-pilot and just deliver the leads to you each day.

Video Websites

Another great resource is video sharing sites like YouTube. In fact, YouTube has over 2 billion videos watched per day! So don’t miss out of this incredible source of free website traffic.

You don’t have to be able to make awesome videos for this to work. It’s really easy to just start with an article or something you’ve already written. Then simply record yourself reading the text and you video the screen with a simple screen capture program. You can even get software that will automatically do this for you.

The Bottom Line…

It’s not that hard to get traffic to your websites. Just be a creative and think outside the box a bit. Plus, there’s lots of great software out there to help you.

Don’t waste any more time:

  • Keyword research first is key
  • Next, set up a survey or two with viral appeal
  • Make sure to use the “answer” sites
  • And don’t forget about video
